After being postponed last year, the Guano Apes tour has now unfortunately had to be canceled completely.
Here is the band's statement:
"Dear Apes friends,
We would have loved to celebrate with you, but unfortunately, we have to let you know today that the planned "Free the Monkey" tour cannot take place due to ongoing vocal issues.
We are deeply saddened by this ourselves, and you can be sure that this decision was not made lightly. Canceling the tour was truly a last resort. However, postponing the tour once again without being certain if or when it could happen later on didn’t feel right or transparent to us.
We deeply regret the entire situation. We were incredibly excited about this tour, and it’s been amazing to see how many of you wanted to attend the shows — so many, in fact, that together with our amazing booking agency FKP Scorpio, we had to upgrade venues multiple times, and even then, the shows were sold out. Thank you!
Of course, purchased tickets can be returned. Please contact the ticket outlet where you bought your tickets. We’re truly sorry if this cancellation causes you any inconvenience.
You know us – each one of us always gives 100% on stage. Right now, that’s unfortunately not possible, and it wouldn’t be fair to you if we couldn’t deliver the energetic show you’re used to and that you absolutely deserve. Health comes first, and we need to allow enough time for recovery to be fully fit for live shows again. We hope you understand.
We’d also like to give a special thank you to our entire crew, who have been incredibly understanding in this situation.
We hope for your continued support and loyalty.
Yours truly,
The Apes."
Guano Apes have become true Zen masters. Instead of submitting to the mechanisms of the market, the band from Germany has freed themselves from them. Instead of releasing new albums every year, the band prefers to hit the stage when their inner passion for music comes itching again. When that happens, it is musical ecstasy.
Anyone who was part of their first post-pandemic tour or witnessed one of their powerful concerts at rock festivals can confirm it. From the first notes of ‘You Can't Stop Me’ through all the classic anthems to the final chord of ‘Lords of the Boards’, they literally rock any audience. As the world becomes increasingly digital, Guano Apes go the opposite direction and demand the analogue.
