Fred Gata

Fred Gata

Fred Gata is a Rwandan-Belgian artist with a voice that floats somewhere between warm tea and a smoky Sunday evening. He moves at the crossroads of hip-hop and soul. Anyone who has ever seen him live knows that “moves” is no euphemism. Fred Gata lives his music. Not through choreography or flashy light shows, but through genuine energy, a charisma that needs no media training, and lyrics that deliver a sharp left hook to anyone who isn’t paying attention.

Today, he is working with a number of highly talented producers and musicians, including Joachim Saerens, Poldoore, Exfala, Aloïs Maddens and Lars Overstijns, on his debut album, due for release in spring 2027. With his debut, Fred Gata promises a versatile new chapter in which soul, hip-hop, beats, a little chaos and a whole lot of love come together in the finest detail to reveal the style that Fred truly belongs to: his own unique style. It will be a universe where there is room for tears, dancing, and a little revolution all at once.

In 2025, his first EP, Wind Me Down, was released. Since then, he has shared the stage as a support act for artists such as Kae Tempest, Dermot Kennedy, Martha Da’ro, Hak Baker and Antony Szmierek — artists who, each in their own way, do just a little more than deliver a catchy chorus. He has also graced the stages of Gent Jazz, AFAS Live, EMERGE!, Suikerrock, Ancienne Belgique, Couleur Café and Boomtown.
